After graduating from Georgetown University Law Center, Melina represented unions and union members in employment-related matters both in an in-house counsel capacity and in private practice. Subsequently she joined a Boston firm representing clients in products liability and professional malpractice defense. She has conducted and directed internal investigations in an in-house capacity for a large government agency and most recently spent six years practicing in the areas of insurance defense and general liability insurance coverage for a prominent Worcester, MA firm. She also serves as a hearing officer for disciplinary matters before the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
